Town of Milan Monthly Meeting Minutes, December 9, 2019

Meeting called to order by Debbie Schumate, Council President, on Monday Dec. 9, 2019 at 6:30pm. All Present joined in giving the pledge of Allegiance. All Council members present.

Minutes of Nov. 18, 2019 were presented. Minutes from November meetings were approved as written. Drew Olman making the motion with Mark Marsee seconding. All ayes.

Claims/Financials/Payroll: After review of the claims presented, motion to accept and pay claims made by Drew, seconded by Mark. All Ayes. Motion carried.

Town Manager's Report: Same presented by John Ingram, Town Manager.

Town Marshall's Report: Same presented by Phillip Wilson.

Milan Park Board Report: No member present.

Concerns/Comments from the public:

Sally Gosmeyer suggested Milan become more active in Christmas activities. She suggested a Christmas walk and something for the kids. Debbie Shumate asked if she would like to head a committee to proceed with the idea. Sally said she would do it.

Drew made motion to have salary increase. Mark seconded. Executive meeting will be held 12/18/19 to discuss percentage. All ayes.

Miscellaneous Business: Stop sign on Mill Rd. was discussed.

Town of Milan Monthly Meeting Minutes, December 18, 2019

Meeting called to order by Deb Shumate in the Milan Town Hall. All present joined in the Pledge of Allegiance. All Council members present.

Concerns/Comment from public: Mike Norman brought to Council's attention the problem he is having with the Milan Police not answering or returning his call. He is having problems with vandalism and people hanging out at the laundry mat, which he owns. Council will look into solving this problem.

Old Business: Drew Olman made motion to increase salaries by 4% across the board. Mark Marsee seconded. All ayes.

New Business: Gene Pitts requested Council's help with a stipend to Rodney Crabtree and Fred Rohrig for the help with Christmas decorations. They currently volunteer their time for the placement of the decorations for the Lion's Club. Council agrees they should be compensated and would like to table until the January meeting. Mark makes motion to table, Drew seconds. All ayes.
