Town of Milan Monthly Meeting Minutes, November 11th, 2013

Meeting called to order by Council President Paul Hildebrand, on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. All town council members were present with the exception of Councilman Matt Huffman. All present joined in giving the Pledge to our Flag and a moment of silence for our veterans.

Minutes of October 14, 2013 were read. There being no additions, corrections or deletions to said minutes they were approved.

Claims/Financials: After review of the utility bills presented motion to accept and pay claims made by Robert Branigan, second by Paul Hildebrand. Motion carried. After review of the town bills presented, motion to accept and pay claims made by Robert Branigan, second by Paul Hildebrand. Motion carried.

Town Manager's Report: Same presented by John Ingram, Town Manager.

Town Marshal's Report: Same presented by Gary Skaggs, Town Marshall.

Milan Park Board Report. Yatzie Roysden, park board wants to apply for grant from Lions Clubs to do bathroom updates.

Concems/Comments from the Public:
Linda Baurley stated the Christmas Parade was getting a lot of attention, final details were laid out for the route of the parade.

Amv Watson was on hand stated her sons scooter was stolen from Milan High School stated that she had no information about who did it. Marshall Gary Skaggs advised that there were confessions and charges had been sent to the procecutor, since juveniles were involved he could not disclose the names and that Ms. Watson needed to contact the Courts.

Sally Gosmeyer wanted to know if the camper behind the building next to the town hall could be towed. Council advised there was pending litigation on the property and hoped the situation would be resolved shortly.

Old Business:
Marianne Wiggers has resigned from the Rising Sun Regional Foundation and we will need to find a replacement. Jeff French sent a letter of request to fill this position. President Hildebrand stated he would need to contact the other communities involved.

Council President Hildebrand made motion to accept the low quote from Holman Excavating to tear down the Arkenberg building on Main Street as long as he could finish the storm sewer project and take down the house within 30 days. Councilman Branigan second, motion carried. (Project already completed)

New Business:
Council President Hildebrand made motion to commit $3,250 to the Park Board for matching funds for the grant they want to apply for from the Lions Club. Funds to come from Revenue Sharing. Councilman Branigan second motion carried.

Council President Hildebrand moved to revise salary ordinance for Town Deputy #2 to $31,000 per year and move Terry Wilson to Deputy #1 retro to September 1st 2013. Councilman Branigan second motion carried.

Councilman Branigan made a motion to adjourn, motion carried.
