Meeting called to order by President, Deborah Shumate, on Monday April 5, 2021 at 6:30pm. All Present joined in giving the pledge of Allegiance. All council members present.
Minutes of March 2021 meetings were presented to Council. Minutes were approved as written. Mark Marsee made the motion to approve with Drew Olman seconding. All ayes. Minutes approved.
Claims/Financial's/Payroll: After review of the claims presented, motion to accept and pay claims made by Drew, seconded by Mark. All Ayes. Motion carried.
Town Report: Same presented by Doug Price.
Town Marshall's Report: Same presented by Marshal Wilson.
Milan Park Board Report: Derek Helton reported that the bathrooms have been repaired and opened. The damaged slide has been replaced and the lights at the Buddy Boone memorial have been repaired.
Concerns/Comments from the public: David Kelly informed Council about the basketball goal on Catherine St. by the post office and wanted it moved due to damage to the building and people playing in the street. Council suggested Doug or Officer Wilson get in touch with the players and suggest moving goal into gravel lot behind Town Hall.
Jane Vinup brought to Council's attention the situation at Main and Preble. The bridge is currently blocked by debris and asked if it could be cleaned up. Derek said he will take care of it.
Old/Continuing Business: Designate Account: Attorney Fledderman asked Council to specify accounts from which to pay settlements. Branigan is to be paid from sewer and Morrissey from River Boat. This was done by a motion from Mark and a second by Drew. All ayes. Motion carried.
Quitclaim: Attorney Fledderman presented document for Council's signatures.
New Business: Solicitation requests were presented to Council for approval. Both were approved and fees waived by a motion from Drew and a second from Mark. All ayes. Motion approved.
Town of Milan annual clean-up was discussed. This will be the 1st week of May and run for two weekends. The first committee meeting is scheduled for 4/19 @ 6:00 at the Milan Town Hall. David Kelly interjected that a lot of cars are still sitting around town that are not tagged. He also, asked if the Greasy Deaton on Main St. is zoned for business. Mark said it will have to be looked into and asked Doug to find out how it is zoned.
Miscellaneous Business: Derek informed Council that the Mule needed repairs.
Mark made motion to adjourn, Drew seconded. All ayes. Motion carried.
