Town of Milan Monthly Meeting Minutes, October 9, 2017

Meeting called to order by Noel Houze, council President, on Monday Oct. 9, 2017 at 6:30pm. All Present joined in giving the pledge of Allegiance. All Council members present.

Minutes of SEPT. 11, 2017 were presented. Minutes from September 11, 2017 mleeting were approved as written. Melissa Baker making the motion with Don Call seconding. All ayes.

Minutes of the Special Meeting on September 26, 2017 were approved with Don Cal! making motion and Melissa Baker seconding. All ayes.

Claims/Financials: After review of the bills presented, motion to accept and pay claims made by Melissa Baker, seconded by Don Call. All Ayes. Motion carried.

Town Manager's Report: Same presented by John Ingram, Town Manager

Town Marshall's Report: Same presented by Phillip Wilson.

Milan Park Board Report: Same presented by Debby Schumate. Park Board made request for funding from the Town to help with the new playground equipment. Don Call suggest tabling until next meeting. Request tabled for additional discussion.

Budget for 2018 was adopted. Motion was made by Melissa Baker with Don Call seconding. All ayes.

Concerns/Comments from the public:

Sally Gosmeyer asked if the post at Hwy 101 and Maple Street could be taken down, because of the condition. John will look into it and determine if it is in our right of way. If so it can be taken down.

She also informed the Council of the destruction of the pumpkins used for the planters around Town.

Jane Ingram asked the Council if a decision has been made concerning the Ordinance banning side by sides. Noel Houze stated that the Council is still working on a solution.

Debby Schumate voiced her opinion as a business owner, stating that she has no objection to people riding them in Town.

Deanna DeMott asked about the situation with the vacant property being mowed. Noel Houze stated that he has been through Town and isn't aware of any properties.

Debby Schumate brought to the Council's attention the area around the Golf Course. There are many properties needing cleaned up.

New Business:

John Ingram asked Council if Jeff Poole could begin work on culvert by Grade School. Council gave permission to proceed.

Miscellaneous Business:

Noel Houze stated he would like to make the public aware of the Grant received for work on the Streets.
