Town of Milan Monthly Meeting Minutes, March 9, 2015

Meeting called to order by Paul Hildebrand, council President, on Monday March 9, 2015 at 6:30pm. All Present joined in giving the pledge of Allegiance. Robert Branigan absent.

Minutes of March 9, 2015 were read. There being no correction to said minutes, they were approved.

Claims/Financials: After review of the utility bills presented, motion to accept and pay claims made by Paul Hildebrand, seconded by Melissa Baker. All Ayes Motion carried. After review of the town bills presented, motion to accept and pay claims made by Melissa Baker, seconded by Paul Hildebrand. Motion Carries with all ayes. Paul motions to pay the regional revenue claims, seconded by Baker.

Town Manager’s Report: Same presented by John Ingram, Town Manager.

Town Marshall’s Report: Same presented by Gary Skaggs, Town Marshall.

Milan Park Board Report: No Board Present.

Concerns/Comments from the public:

Sue Greer from the Milan Food Pantry is seeking a letter from the town expressing its need for the new food bank. Sue states that space is running out and the demand is higher than ever. The food pantry has received a plot of land in milan and is now looking for grants and donations to aid in building a new pantry. Sue states she has received letters from other businesses in town and is now requesting the town offer a letter of support. Paul states that the town would write a letter in support of a new food pantry.

Old Business:

Paul states CSX agreement is signed and now we are waiting on the CSX engineers for grant consideration.

Paul moves to accept budget at written, Melissa seconds. Motion carries with all ayes.

Paul moves to pass resolution on contracting, Melissa Seconds. Resolution passes with all ayes.

Paul moves to pass resolution on Nepotism, Melissa seconds. Resolution passes with all ayes.

New Business:

Gary Skaggs asks council to approve purchase of new equipment. Skaggs states that he received quote for $489.00. Paul moves to allow purchase, Melissa Seconds. Motion passes with all ayes.

John Ingram states that the town is in need of water meters. Ingram states that over the years the meters break with normal wear and tear. Ingram states the town needs to purchase 60 new meters. Paul moves to allow up to $4000.00 from regional revenue sharing infrastructure, Melissa Seconds. Motion passes with all ayes.
